All of the SBVFD stations are manned 24/7 with a staff of fully trained professional paid and
volunteer fire fighters. Volunteers still make up an important part of our mission. The volunteers
are trained to the same high standards as our paid fire fighters and must meet the same high
expectations. We are currently co-located at all of our stations with Bulverde Spring Branch Emergency Medical Services personnel and Advanced Life Support Ambulances. In 2009, SBVFD answered 987 calls and the call volume is expected to surpass 1,200 in 2010. Our community is quickly growing and we are dedicated to proactively acquiring state-of-the-art equipment and training for our personnel and volunteers. The Spring Branch Volunteer Fire Department is an organization of dedicated professionals who are committed to serving the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention, education, and fire and emergency medical services. As Emergency First Responders SBVFD responds to calls involving water rescue, vehicle collisions, all fire emergencies, ranging from wild land fires, to structure fires. Our department utilizes several different types of apparatus' including Pumpers, Tankers, a rescue boat, a fully equipped All Terrain Firefighting Vehicle (ATV), and 4X4 brush trucks for fighting brush fires. A newly acquired state of the art 109 ft. ladder truck can be used for everything from water rescues, high angle rescues, automobile extrications, fighting large one story house fires, to commercial buildings and multi-story structure fires. |
